Shawl & Roses for Weddings

October 16th, 2014

I have been a bit absent for the last few weeks, my daughter has had a kidney infection, we are kitting our way though it during the quiet times, she is feeling much better now.

You may remember the wedding items I made, and lots of posts earlier in the year about roses. here are some pictures of them in action,

I loved knitting this item, up close you can see the lovely detail in each section.

This week I received a lovely message form the stunning bride

“Absolutely love my shawl. It is beautiful. It is here in Paris with me”

And another when the happy couple returned

“I took my shawl everywhere… I have had so many lovely comments from others about it too”

These are two of the three shawls I made, I love this picture! thankfully those clouds cleared and the sun came out.

Bridesmaid – “so many people have commented to me how much they love my shawl you made us it’s lovely I would have been lost without that Monday as I was so cold”

Seven sets of these corsage were made for the wedding party, and I was lucky to find some lovely lace ribbon which looked lovely with the roses and against the bride’s dress

Making items for this wedding and seeing everything come together was thoroughly enjoyable, boxing all the finished items up and seeing them together was lovely 😀

Every wedding (or any special occasion) is different, colour themes and styles are personal to each person, winter shawls are very different to summer shawls and in Autumn and Spring you never know what the weather will do!

One thing is for sure i will enjoy knitting for any wedding 🙂

Congratulations to the happy couple, and thank you for letting me be part of your happy day xx
